Developed by Frank Developments and Graya Construction, the development comprises of five full-floor residential apartment dwellings and a rooftop recreation deck.

Designed by Joe Adsett Architects, the architectural brief for the project was to create a collection of ‘sky-homes’ which have the same spatial qualities and character of a home.

According to the development application, Maison, meaning home in French became the underlying driver for the development.

The skyhomes have been specifically designed to have an abundance of natural light, and cross ventilation wrapped in landscaping.

“The passive floor plan lends itself to effective solar and cross ventilation. Another key design paramater for the project is the concept of a landscape veil which wraps the building. This viel is thoughtfully designed as a planter that completely envelopes all levels, providing a soft interface of luscious planting and draped landscaping.

  • Looks great. Concrete is a fantastic material to use in tropical climates and the brutalist/modernist look is very underrated. This is a striking yet elegant design and will stand the test of time I feel. Well done all involved.

  • Looks great in theory. Utterly insane in reality that 5 owners would be able to maintain it. Hundreds of cubic metres of soil/mulch mixture that will have to be replaced periodically in a very dangerous position. And endless watering which will inevitably get into the the steel reinforcing ultimately causing concrete cancer. Good luck maintaining all that. Can only imagine what the Body Corp levies will ultimately be.
