- x102 Apartments Total
Lat27 architects have designed the landscape concept plan for the proposed development which has been inspired by fig trees in the rainforests of South East Queensland.
The project’s architectural statement says that the development represents a climate responsive design, incorporating natural ventilation, and subtropical planting that enables a comfortable, passive, low technology, high ambience and sustainable urban living outcome.
The development will provide a green connection vertically with subtropical landscaping throughout and on the facade of the building. The landscaping will also extend out from the publicly accessible plazas through the ground levels to provide shade and protection and enhance the amenity of the site.
The residential towers have been designed to provide openings on two or three sides of the units to allow the facade of the building to be permeable to the climate and maximising access to daylight, natural light and cross ventilation. – A+ Design Group
The development also claims to provide landscaping which is capable of efficient and effective maintenance that ensures the success of the landscaping into the future.
An original development application that was approved in 2012 for a twin tower development known as ‘Dockside Garden Towers’ was scrapped due to post global financial crisis market conditions.
The DA number for this development is A004595391.
C+ at best
zaha copy
precisely
a hell of a lot better than the original proposal but still a rip off
how embarrassing to completely copy Zaha’s project.
i wish they can make the building taller so those of us that have a smaller wallet can afford to buy. i dream to live in such a place but can never save up enough. if council forces developers to lower prices in exchange for higher levels it would be ideal. we don’t even have earthquake here. so why not build taller sky scrapers.
Mike, how much are you looking to spend?
