Hong Kong based Swiss-Belhotel will open its first Australian hotel in Brisbane after signing a new long term lease at Peak Apartments, a new residential and hotel tower in South Brisbane.
The hotel is fast nearing completion and is positioned directly opposite the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital as well as Ronald McDonald House, which will be the largest in Australia upon completion.
The new Swiss-Belhotel South Brisbane will comprise of 108 superior rooms, 14 deluxe studios and 12 executive studios – 134 hotel rooms in total with seven of the superior rooms being tailored for the physically challenged.
Gavin Faull, the Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International said:
“We are very excited to be opening our first Swiss-Belhotel branded property in Australia in the booming Brisbane market. It is all about opportunity and we were presented with this exciting opportunity in Brisbane two years ago. We were so impressed that we have taken a long-term lease on the hotel and invested in the property.”
The hotel will feature a corporate lounge, meeting rooms, an indoor pool and gym as well as an expanded version of the Cafe 63 franchise which will provide drinks and entertainment during the evening and weekends as well as a larger menu and bar.
Mr Faull said Swiss-Belhotel International plans to have 10 hotels under its management in Australia within five years and at least 40 within 10 years.
