APPROVED: The Brisbane City Council has approved Kozmic Development’s Manning street residential development.
The developer behind West End’s Arriva project will build a 10 and 20 floor residential rise in Manning Street Milton. The Brisbane City Council has configured local planning laws in Milton to become a high density residential community, with easy accessibility and increased urban renewal projects. The proposal by Kozmic Developments follows FKP’s new revised proposal for Union Tower, a planned 32 storey residential and office tower to be constructed above Milton station.
Kozmic’s Manning street project includes a rooftop garden, a green initiative not yet seen in Brisbane before. The project will also see 158 new bicycle spaces created.
Kozmic is also to contribute around $3.1 million dollars in fees to the Brisbane City Council, some of which will go into the expansion of the Brisbane’s City Cat network with the construction of a new Park Road terminal.
These projects are just the beginning of a suburb-wide transformation from a suburban low density area, to a high density, transit-orientated and pedestrian friendly environment.
