Brisbane developer Graya has announced its plans to construct a new residential building called “Chalk” on Moray Street in New Farm, following the success of its previous project, Maison.

The area is known for its upscale residences, elevated location near the river, and stunning views of the city.

The development has been approved by the Brisbane City Council and will consist of 10 premium apartments with two or three bedrooms that cater to downsizers, right-sizers, and professionals who desire proximity to the riverfront amenity of Brisbane.

Graya Director Rob Gray stated that the design of Chalk is in response to the growing demand for spacious apartments in the inner city of Brisbane. He also added that New Farm is a highly sought-after and exclusive suburb, and projects like Chalk require a unique architectural solution.

The three-storey building will have a sculptural design that complements the surrounding area while also providing residents with sweeping views of the Brisbane skyline. The rooftop will feature world-class amenities, including a resort-style pool and an alfresco dining area.

According to Graya Director Andrew Gray, the company’s in-house design team created the visionary design of the building, which maximizes space, light, and views, and features generous house-size proportions.

“As the designer, developer, and builder, Graya has the advantage of mobilizing on-site quickly and efficiently, ensuring that the final product exceeds all expectations. Construction has begun, and Chalk is expected to be completed by mid-2024.” – Graya

Chalk will be launched to the market in May 2023, along with Graya’s other luxury development, Canvas, in Bulimba, which is expected to be completed later this year. Graya’s southeast Queensland portfolio includes various luxury developments across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with an estimated value of $200 million.
