The Brisbane City Council has launched an innovative simulated-city game allowing users to build their suburb and at the same time making choices about how lifestyle, transport, housing affordability and green space should be prioritised.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk is inviting Brisbane residents to take the future of their neighbourhoods into their own hands, as part of the Plan Your Brisbane initiative.
Feedback from residents through the game, online surveys and community forums will inform a Charter of Principles which will be used to guide future Council planning decisions.
Brisbane is a great place to live, work and relax. It’s no wonder our city is growing, with more people than ever wanting to call Brisbane home.
By 2041, Brisbane will need to cater for an extra 386,000 residents. That’s more than 1000 people moving to Brisbane each month.
The Plan your Brisbane interactive game will be available from Council’s website until mid-April 2018.
The simple simulation game can be accessed here. A survey of how you would like to see Brisbane grow can be accessed here.
