Spyre Group have proposed a new boutique apartment development called Zahra, located at 55 Oxlade Drive, New Farm.

Director of Spyre Group Andrew Malouf says the vision was to provide a development that entices individual and community emotion through form, materials, space and livability.

“To give Zahra its own identity, we focused heavily on its presence and drew inspiration from a number of fields. From geometric art installations which inspired the overall three dimensional screening details at the front of the building to borrowing landscaping attributes from the creative Beaux Arts tradition; the identity of Zahra became established”, Andrew Malouf said.

The development has been designed by local architecture firm Cottee Parker who’s vision was to create an iconic riverside address through unique architecture. According to the the architect:

Its form and scale delivers a series of exclusive pods containing 4, 8 and 11 apartments per pod, each expressed with its own identity, a subset within the over all aesthetic. Zahra has a rich and opulent material palette with a focus on quality and durability — contemporary yet classic it will stand the test of time as a landmark development.

The development was granted approval in September this year and has commenced marketing.

Recreation

A resident’s only pool and rooftop zen garden with entertainment area planned for the development as well as a private dinning and cinema room.

The site currently houses a four level commercial building.

The DA number for this development is A004302674.
