Majella Property Developments, a private development company associated with well-known Brisbane surgeon Dr Frank Monsour, has received approval for a $47 million mixed-use development in Brisbane’s inner south.
Radius Apartments is located 3km south of the Brisbane CBD on an elevated site in O’Keefe Street, Woolloongabba.
Radius is among several new apartment developments emerging on Brisbane’s inner south, driven by major infrastructure upgrades such as the new Airport Link tunnel, South East Busway and the $3 billion Clem Jones Tunnel and the growth of major employment nodes such as the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals.
“Woolloongabba is set to follow in the footsteps of Brisbane’s other urban growth suburbs, namely Newstead, Teneriffe, New Farm and Bulimba, which have experienced unprecedented growth in recent times,” Majella Property Developments managing director Dr Frank Monsour, who is also Queensland Premier Campbell Newman’s father-in-law said.
“Radius Apartments is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the surrounding urban renewal including the Logan Road Antiques and café Precinct, the Clem Jones Tunnel and development of the Boggo Road Urban Village including the Ecosciences Precinct.”
The eight level tower features a total of 91 apartments – 35 x one bedroom and 56 x two bedrooms – with several retail/commercial tenancies located on ground floor. Three levels of basement car parking provide each apartment with a minimum of one car.
Designed by award winning local architect Elizabeth Anderson of Kevin Hayes Architects, Radius also features a north-facing rooftop terrace with lap pool, spas, steam room and BBQ and entertainment facilities overlooking the city.
One bedroom + study apartments range from 79 – 98sqm and are priced from $357,000 to $395,000.
Two bedroom + study apartments range from 99 – 133sqm and are priced from $465,000 to $545,000.
The project is being marketed by Harcourts Projects with a display suite located on O’Keefe Street.
Construction is anticipated to be completed in last quarter of 2013
