Density in Mt Gravatt is set to increase with one of Brisbane’s largest suburban development projects put forward to Council.

Horizon Growth Pty Ltd have submitted a development application to build a new 15 level residential tower on 2140 Logan Road in Mt Gravatt. The proposal which is in accordance with the SEQ Regional Plan has been designed by PeddleThorp Architects. The area is zoned as one of Brisbane’s ‘major activity nodes’ and allows for high density development in order to cater for future growth.

The building will house a commercial component at the front, while residential apartments will be situated at the rear. The tower also has significant ESD features proposed with energy, water, transport and construction elements taken into account. A community garden will also be considered, while vertical gardens and planter boxes will be used to make use of unusable green space.

Six retail spaces forming a ‘lane’ is proposed down the side which serves as a primary pedestrian corridor to the residential and office lobbies. 193 one, two and three bedroom apartments will be spread across 14 levels. 2140 Logan Road, Mt Gravatt is the start of many new suburban highrise projects across Brisbane, as the city plans for increased population growth on the horizon.
