The Residences at Yungaba House was recognised as the best in the state within the medium density category for Queensland in 2017, and Frasers Property’s Newport building within the Hamilton Reach masterplanned community was a finalist.
Cameron Leggatt, General Manager Residential Queensland for Fraser Property said the award recognised the company’s ongoing efforts to create timeless developments that people can call home.
“We are thrilled and humbled that The Residences at Yungaba House and Newport at Hamilton Reach have been recognised in this manner,” Mr Leggatt said.

“The Residences have been shaped from one of Brisbane’s most exceptional buildings, the 130-year-old Yungaba House, reflecting heritage rich detail coexisting side by side with modern design.”
“This building was approached with the view of creating 10 bespoke residences within the heritage envelope as opposed to an ‘apartment development’.
“All 10 residences have been lovingly refurbished and crafted to retain the elegance and charm of the original building.”

“This award reflects our unwavering commitment to developing communities that set benchmarks for the industry, respect the environment and surpass market acceptance.”
The Residences overlook Yungaba’s 3,000sqm heritage-listed gardens and lush parklands at Kangaroo Point, while an adjacent Recreation Centre offers residents-only access to a private gymnasium and 25m infinity-edge pool.
Yungaba House dates back to 1887 and has served as an immigration facility, army refuge, accommodation centre, war-time hospital, design studio and community group hub during the past 130 years.
The Newport development at Hamilton Reach comprises a suite of 34 prestigious two and three-bedroom apartments across five elegant levels.

The building features a stunning atrium that offers a tranquil oasis with unrivalled Brisbane River frontage and views to the CBD.
From a design perspective, the seamless and gently-curving shape of Newport’s river inspired façade extends internally to the living spaces and features fluid floorplans, secondary living spaces, entertainer’s kitchens and generous balconies.
