Brisbane’s future RNA Showgrounds can expect a mixed use precinct with improved linkages, fresh food markets and other amenities.

UPDATE HERE | This is an artist’s impression of what the RNA Showgrounds could look like after it undergoes an urban renewal process which will see a residential population of around 10,000 people and a predicted 8,000 strong workforce. The Bowen Hills area is earmarked for large scale redevelopment as it is in close proximity to key activity centres as well as rail infrastructure. Lend Lease, which now holds the rights to develop Brisbane’s RNA showgrounds has released it’s new DA, pending approval by the Urban Land Development Authority (UDLA).  Read More

APPROVED: In a move deemed as common sense, Queensland Infrastructure and Planning Minister Stirling Hinchliffe has ‘called-in’ FKP’s 31 floor Milton TOD project.

After approval was given by the Brisbane City Council on the 3rd of February 2010, a local protest group who refer to themselves as ‘CRAMED’ which stands for ‘Concerned Residents Against Milton’s Excessive Development’ has had FKP’s TOD project held up in the Planning and Environment Court and was subject to appeal by the local opposition group. The group also is protesting other important projects such as the Milton Tennis Site.
